Your Home Away From Home

Our Kaupapa Māori Services in the Marlborough Region

Te Hauora o Ngāti Rārua (THONR) began its journey in 1996 as a mobile Māori health provider. Today, we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting whānau throughout the region and beyond, adapting to the ever-changing needs of our community.

Whānau Ora

Empower your whānau with our Whānau Ora Navigators, who offer personalised, wrap-around support and ongoing care for individuals and families navigating life's challenges. Our inter-generational, collective, locally-driven, and strengths-focused approach is delivered by staff with lived experiences, fostering deeper connections and understanding with the whānau we serve.

Rongoā Māori

Experience holistic healing with our Rongoā Māori services, which provide traditional Māori therapy, mirimiri (massage), karakia (prayer), and whitiwhiti kōrero (sharing of thoughts and issues). Our skilled practitioners offer a nurturing environment to support your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Kaumatua Tūkino / Mistreatment

Our compassionate Navigator works alongside Kaumātua (elders) who are experiencing mistreatment, ensuring their immediate safety and mobilising access to the right services. We provide care, support and guidance, enabling our treasured kaumātua to live with dignity and respect.

Tū Pono

Through our Tū Pono service we aim to provide a sustainable whānau ora approach to addressing the impact of family violence and sexual harm on whānau.

Kaumātua & Tangata Whaikaha Programme

The Kaumātua and Tangata Whaikaha programme aims to empower, enrich and enhance the wellbeing of Kaumātua (Elderly) and Tangata Whaikaha (people with disabilities) through a variety of educational, cultural and therapeutic activities.
